For 2015, Bristol holds the title of European Green Capital: a great honour in recognition of its aspirations to be more sustainable, and a great responsibility to showcase best practice and help others to follow.
Bristol Friends of the Earth members are involved in various projects, and the organisation is hosting a collaborative project on sustainable food called Bristol Good Food Tour – Let’s All Cook and Eat.
Then there’s an exciting project called CHEESE (Cold Homes Energy Efficiency Survey Experts) hosted by Easton Energy Group using inexpensive thermal imaging to help raise awareness of energy efficiency and the simple measures that can be taken to reduce energy consumption and bills.
And a project called Get Bristol Buzzing to make Bristol more bee-friendly and raise awareness of the need to look after polinators more widely – with wild flowers that provide food and shelter and avoiding pesticides.
